In this CreativeMornings/Berlin talk, Erik Spiekermann, self-described as suffering from “Typomania, “a sickness that is incurable but not lethal, give a 20-minute introduction into type for screen. Erik is the designer behind numerous commercial typefaces, including FF Unit, Lo-Type, and Berliner Grotesk. He has participated in the creation of several corporate identities and other works, including redesigns of the publications The Economist and Reason.
If you’ve watched the documentary Helvetica, you’ve seen Erik before, and in this lecture, he dives into what it means to design for type on screens, and, beyond that, what type can mean for brands. For others ailed by Typomania, you’ll absolutely love this talk.
